We had a brilliant botany identity walk last Monday night in Luggiebank Woods, Cumbernauld led by Dave Knox .. He took us through the botany - and I mean the botany- of 32 riparian, wetland and grassland wildflower species and that didn't include any of the wonderful grasses or reeds. On the way back we "did" trees of the riverbank and he kept testing us which was great fun.  We could have kept going but ran out of time after nearly a three hour session!.  We had loads of people and  everyone crowded round Dave all the time, anxious not to miss one single word he said. He mentioned having an evening of ancient woodland flowers and also grasses, reeds and rushes. Bring it on!!!!!     AJ.
