Opportunities for practical conservation work
COME TO A VOLUNTEER DAY ON A SCOTTISH WILDLIFE TRUST RESERVE IN THE CLYDE AREA
February to July 2012
Much practical work on the SWT’s reserves is dependent on local volunteers.
If you would like to join in , you will be very welcome to come along to any of the events below. No previous experience is necessary. Beside these listed events there are sometimes other particular tasks where the help of volunteers is required.
Loch Ardinning : [Normally on 1st Saturday of every month except for January, when it will usually be on the second Saturday of the month]
Saturday 11th February 2012: Ditch clearance or other work to be arranged. (Note 2nd Saturday of month)
- Meet at dam by A81, 1030hrs.
Saturday 3rd March 2012: Ditch clearance or other work to be arranged
- Meet at dam by A81, 1030hrs.
Saturday 7th April 2012: Clear vegetation by dam
- Meet at dam by A81, 1030hrs.
Saturday 5th May 2012: Replace way-markers and/or other work to be arranged
- Meet at dam by A81, 1030hrs.
Saturday 2nd June 2012: Bracken Clearance by Nature Trail - joint with Butterfly Conservation.
- Meet at dam by A81, 1030hrs.
Sunday 17th June 2012: LOCH ARDINNING FAMILY DAY – All helpers welcome
- Meet at dam by A81, 1000hrs. to set up tent etc.
Saturday 7th July 2012: Bracken Clearance by Nature Trail - joint with Butterfly Conservation.
- Meet at dam by A81, 1030hrs.

Help can be given with transport to Loch Ardinning from Milngavie Station
and sometimes from the west end of Glasgow

Gloves and stout footwear/Wellingtons and water proofs are recommended for all occasions.
If you can stay longer than the morning (weather permitting !) please bring a packed lunch.
